Tonner Doll has FINALLY released pictures of the new Doctor Who and Torchwood dolls. These 16" dolls cost anywhere from $164 - $199. (Yikes!!!) The dolls use the likeness and actual outfits from David Tennant as The Doctor, Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones, John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness and Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper. I, personally, am excited and have been waiting awhile for the pictures to be released. The really cool thing about The Doctor is that he comes with a Sonic Screwdriver!!! (Yes --- geeking!!!) The only complaint I have is that The Doctor's coat is annoyingly sold separately for about $50!!! Well, that and the price of each doll. But, that's the great Tonner quality and unfortunately, the curse of the collectors market.The Doctor, Timelord with coat

Why are the dolls so expensive!??!
I don't know. Maybe because they're 16" tall, fully rooted hair, fully articulated ... fully clothed. Often times, the clothes cost more than the dolls when they're sold nude. I don't know. The collector's market can be a pain in the ass.
They are quite expensive. Sometimes you can find the dolls on Ebay for a cheaper price and the Tonner site has sales from time to time.
