Nooooo. I didn't hear that!!! If it happens, I'm dropping the title like a hot potato. And, I mean it. I'll be pissed if Archie Comics does that to the brotha after someone finally coming up with a positive black gay character.
In addition (still mad), I get tired of seeing our people depicted as victims. I just hope it doesn't happen. I'm really enjoying this book since all of my favorite characters in the DC Universe have been changed by the New 52 (which I DO support).
I subscribe to Life With Archie and just got issue #22 in the mail. Looks like Clay Walker really did get shot (it turned out not to be a f*g-bashing), but they won't reveal whether or not he's dead until next issue. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
On a related subject: The Archie strip always had a Gay character: Jughead. In my opinion, creator Bob Montana hinted he was Gay, and would have made him openly so if the times had permitted. It's painful, watching the editors re-invent him as a heterosexual husband and father-to-be in one timeline, and Big Ethel's sweetheart in another. It just isn't believable.
RE the New 52: I despise what they've done to Green Arrow! That's one character I wish they'd depict as Gay in an alternate universe, with his superbad 1970s costume and facial hair.
I'm still on board with Archie. I'm still disappointed that Clay had to be the one to get shot. It should have been Kevin, who was openly gay and serving our country. Well, in any event, it will probably make the homophobes of Riverdale fall in love with Kevin and Clay now out of guilt. That's fine. And, they're probably just reversing the relationship between Kevin and him. Clay nursed him to health, which is how they met and soooo romantical. Now, it's reversed. I'm still waiting on that on screen kiss!!!
Jughead is funny. I never realized he was such a closet case!! Running from girls. His catty relationship with Veronica is hilarious. They're so bitchy!!! It's delicious. But, Jughead gay? I may have to explore this more in pictures. And, maybe on that other blog of mine. The naughty one. Yum.

Have you heard that Clay Walker will (maybe) be killed off in a f*g-bashing incident to be depicted in Life With Archie #22?
